Not that long ago, perhaps a few weeks, I received an e-mail from someone who had decided to launch their own eBook publishing company. This individual was looking for some help and direction. Needless to say I was happy to try and help out. The primary question on this persons mind was how long it should take to get an eBook published and to start making money with it. Great question, let’s answer it right here.
Typically, and eBook should take about a week to create. Sometimes less, and in rare instances, a little bit longer. In fact, what I usually tell people is that they should establish a goal of creating an eBook within one week. That includes doing the topic research and actually writing the manuscript. Keep in mind that once you get your eBook publishing company launched, you can always delegate the eBook creation process to others.
But is that realistic? For many, it seems overly ambitious to create an eBook within a week and to start seeing a profit from those efforts. That’s a fair point, so let’s take a closer look at this. When I first got started, I was working a traditional job. It was a tiring job that required me to provide telephone technical support. After a long day at work, I often felt tired and unmotivated to work on my eBook publishing business. You can probably relate to the feeling of getting home from work and not wanting to do much of anything.
Despite what I just described, I was still able to get my eBook publishing company off the ground. So if you’re wondering how long it should take to create your first eBook and start making lots of money with it, I’d highly recommend establishing a 7 to 14 day time frame. Be gentle on yourself, if you have a full time job and a lot of other responsibilities, it’s important that you give yourself some breathing room.
